Taiwanese police have arrested a 22-year-old man who stabbed a nurse during a bungled robbery last week, then returned to profess his love for her. 

The man stabbed the 18-year-old woman in the back before repenting and taking her to the hospital for treatment. 

“When I noticed how lovely you look, I changed my mind,” he wrote in a love note he placed on the nurse’s scooter, apologizing and offering compensation. 

Police arrested the unnamed man as he waited for the nurse to return. 

“The suspect was caught as he tried to express his love for the victim,” said a police officer accompanying the woman, who was not seriously injured. 

“It wasn’t a routine case,” the officer in Taiwan’s Miaoli county told various news agencies. 

Local reports said the unnamed man had stolen her wallet, which contained 56 Taiwanese dollars, less than $2 (£1).

International talk like a pirate day

There are more than 1,500 Talk Like A Pirate videos on YouTube and more than 10 million websites dedicated to the phenomenon.

The event was created in 1995 John Baur and Mark Summers, from Oregon, decreed observers of the holiday would greet each other with ‘Ahoy, me hearty!’.

The holiday gained traction when Miami-based columnist Dave Barry gave it a nod in 2002.

As well as the usual “Arrrs!” and “Ayes!” in conversation, observers of the event are expected to be familiar with a vast lexicon of pirate jargon, much of it dating back to the 17 the century.

In Britain, dozens of pirate events are being held around the country include a CAMRA Pirate Pub Crawl in Nottinghamshire, a children’s pirate party in Gloucestershire and a 50p rum drinks promotion at a pub in London.

The official British representative of the Pirate holiday is Mad Cap’n Tom who was last year elected President of the University of York Students’ Union and carried out his duties in character.

Many of this year’s events are in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

A proper pirate would know the following words:

Avast! — Stop and give attention. It can be used in a sense of surprise, “Whoa! Get a load of that!”

Beauty — The best possible pirate address for a woman. Always preceded by “me,” as in, “C’mere, me beauty,” or even, “me buxom beauty,” to one particularly well endowed.

Grog — An alcoholic drink, usually rum diluted with water, but in this context you could use it to refer to any alcoholic beverage other than beer

Smartly — Do something quickly.

Ha Ha – mine is bigger than yours!

On September 10, 2008, an argument over penis size at a South African pub resulted in four men shot to death. Two brothers and now former police officers, Brian and Leon Steven, are standing trial for the murders of Shawn Strydom, Nick Jansen van Rensburg, Rory Menzes, and Bruce Edwards. Although the Steven brothers were already on administrative leave over another matter at the time of the killings, it wasn’t until June 8 of this year that they were formally dismissed from the KwaZulu-Natal police force.

On the night of the murders (which have been dubbed the ‘Penis Killings’ by the media), witnesses told the court that a diminutive man of Indian descent began bragging to other pub patrons about the size of his penis after urinating next to a white man in the men’s room. Witness Thomas Vivian said the Indian man approached his table and said, “I’ll show you my dick is bigger.” He then made a gesture that suggested he was going to undo his pants and actually show them. Another patron told the Indian man to “take your dick and fuck off.” The scene escalated, with racial epithets volleyed back and forth, until the Steven brothers became involved.

A resulting physical altercation outside the pub was re-directed back inside when Brian Steven fired several shots. His brother also fired a shot. Defense attorneys are claiming that the brothers acted in self defense. In addition to the four dead, two other men were wounded with bullets. We wonder who feels like the biggest dick now. The trial will continue next week.

Sheriff: I wonder if those idiots are going to be comaring penis sizes…and butthole sizes in the jail they will be heading to!

CHENNAI, India (Reuters) – A leading French chess player turned up drunk and dozed off after just 11 moves in an international tournament in Kolkata, losing the round on technical grounds, domestic media reported Friday.

Tkachiev not sleeping here!

Grandmaster Vladislav Tkachiev arrived for Thursday’s match against India’s Praveen Kumar in such an inebriated state that he could hardly sit in his chair and soon fell asleep, resting his head on the table, Hindustan Times newspaper reported.

Indian papers carried pictures of the world number 58 sleeping and the organizers’ futile attempts to wake his up.

The game was awarded to the Indian on the technical ground of Tkachiev being unable to complete his moves within the stipulated time of an hour and 30 minutes, the paper said.

The player was warned and reprimanded by the organizers afterwards but has been allowed to take part in the remainder of the competition, the paper said.

Sheriff: Alcohol may have it’s benefits, but not during international chess tounaments! Would’ve been fun to watch, but one can’t help but wonder…how stupid were his 11 moves???!!!???
